Most trailers operate on a four wire system where
the brake lights and turn signals operate on the same wire. When the
towing vehicle has separate wires for brake lights and turn signals,
a device called a taillight converter is required. |

CHOOSING THE RIGHT CONVERTER
The converter you choose depends on the type of
trailer youll be towing and the car or truck youll be towing it
with (the electrical system s on some vehicles are designed to
handle the power needs of the vehicle only. Be sure to consult your
owners manual for their recommendations.)

for vehicles that do not require power isolation and are towing
trailers with 2 or fewer clearance lights. Will not work with
mechanical flashers found on older vehicles, replace with HD
flasher 39552.
Tech tips
-Always locate
inside the vehicle or in protected area of the vehicle. Although
the product is sealed and waterproof, it is vulnerable to damage
or corrosion.
-Before installing this unit, check to make sure the vehicle has
an electronic flasher for the turn signal module. If the vehicle
has a mechanical flasher there may be problems in the left and
right turn functions. You should replace with it an electronic
flasher (see Hidden
Hitch part number 39552).
